Jaime Vicente Caliso de Alonzo was born in Sampaloc, Manila and presently lives in Norala, South Cotabato. He is a graduate of psychology and an aspiring civil servant, taking up hobbies such as vexillology, cartography, worldbuilding, and cross-stitching. He advocates for continued visibility for so-called “invisible” developmental and psychosocial disabilities.

Description and symbolism:

The green field alludes to roots in farming and agriculture on both sides of his family, which he is slated to inherit. It also reflects his fondness for the colour green as a symbol of his mediatory and peace-seeking demeanour and inherent love for Mother Nature.

The converging shapes are symbolic of the convergence of both sides of his family and his own path in life, and are also an abstract depiction of rice stalks as a further reflection of his family’s farming heritage. The rice seeds on either side are canting to his mother’s maiden name kaliso (“a seed”), a symbol of humility and perseverance within the family, and additional reference to his family as farmers.

The sarimanok bird is a symbol of resilience and rebirth against adversity, common amongst the cultures of Mindanao. Grasping an hourglass expresses the Armiger’s gripping onto that adversity and turning impediments into opportunities.

The motto reflects the Armiger’s continuing mission to bring with him hope and effect lasting change, be it within himself or to those around him, wherever he may be.
