Jon Mattheu B. Betonio was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and lives in Miagao, Iloilo.

Description and symbolism:

The two colors of the shield represents the two-sided nature of humanity, with people being figuratively both Light and Dark. The scale represents the balance between these two sides, and the vision of having fair judgement.

The crossed swords allude to the support of fairness and justice, while the crossed rifles represent defence of these values. The large sword underlying both symbolizes the Armiger’s own calling to sustain and uphold these ideals.

The mottoes taken together express the sentiment that even in the darkest moments, there is always guidance from the light above.

Blazon: Shield: Per bend sinister Turquoise and Azure, a sword palewise point to chief surmounted by in chief two swords in saltire and in base two rifles in saltire, all Proper.

Motto: Ex astris et caelo / Lux per umbram (“From the stars and sky, light through shadow”).
