Description and symbolism:

The red field alludes to fire, and is canting to the Armiger’s family name, a Tagalog word which means “to set aflame”.

The two gold fleurs de lis are canting to the Armiger’s given names. St. Joseph, alluded to by the Armiger’s first name, is said to bear a staff that bloomed chaste lilies. The three part fleur de lis also recalls the human nature of the Savior: Emmanuel, or “God with us”.

The gold six pointed star on a blue field is drawn from the coat of arms of Pope St. Pius X, the patron saint of the Armiger.

The scroll symbolizes knowledge and teaching, a reference to the Armiger’s profession as a teacher.

The palm frond is commonly used to symbolize St. Stephen, the first martyr, and refers to the Armiger’s membership in the Archconfraternity of St. Stephen.

The motto is taken from Psalm 88:2.

Blazon: Shield: Gules, on a fess Azure fimbriated engrailed Or, a six-pointed star between two fleurs de lis, in chief a scroll, in base a palm frond, all Or.

Motto: Misericordias Domini in aeternum cantabo (“I will sing the mercies of the Lord forever”).
