Description and symbolism:

The silver and black fields reflect the Dominican order that evangelized the Armiger’s parish. The gold and silver sword refers to St. Paul the Apostle, the Armiger’s namesake. Held in the dog’s mouth, taken together it expresses the Armiger’s affection for the Dominican order.

The crown and palm fronds are commonly associated with St. Stephen, on whose feast day the Armiger was baptized.

The Armiger’s home province of Cayagan is symbolized by the triple mountain.

The red star refers to the Queen of the Cagayan Valley, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary and Visitation of Piat, the Patroness of the province, whose image was transferred on the feast of St. Stephen and whose day of canonical coronation coincides with the Armiger’s birthday.

The motto is a shortened version of the prayer from the Gospel of St. Luke, 22:42.

Blazon: Shield: Argent on a fess invected Sable, between in chief two palm fronds in saltire Azure surmounted by a coronet Gules, in base a trimount Azure and at dexter base a star of six points Gules, a dog contourné couchant regardant Argent holding in its mouth a sword Argent hilted Or, all within a bordure Sable.
