Bradley Ilagan is a Greek-based Filipino heraldry artist. Born to overseas Filipino worker parents in Athens, Greece, he was educated in the Philippines from third grade to senior high school before settling back in Athens. His initial interest of heraldry came from the study of flags and insignia used in the Philippines and elsewhere.

Description and symbolism:

The armillary sphere represents the Armiger’s academic pursuit in the field of international relations. The coffee branch represents his home in Mabini, Batangas where he spent most of his childhood. The Ionic column plays homage to the Armiger’s Greek birthplace and residence in Athens. The wavy bars of Argent and Azure allude to the sea separating, but also binding the two hometowns of the Armiger together.

The sea-lion in the crest is an additional reference to the Armiger’s Filipino identity. The paintbrush and palette being held symbolises the Armiger’s passion for illustration.

The motto, written in Tagalog, reflects the Armiger’s conviction on the face of uncertainty.

Blazon: Shield: Azure, issuant from base barry wavy Argent and Azure an Ionic column Argent, on a chapé embowed Gules, to dexter an armillary sphere, to sinister a coffee branch Or.

Crest: A demi sea lion grasping in its dexter paw a paintbrush and in its sinister paw an artist’s palette, all Or.
