
Rhojan L. Durano is a Cebuano living in Guadalupe, Cebu City. He is a practicing Catholic, an altar server, and a prospective Bachelor of Science in Psychology student, seeking to enter seminary in the religious congregation of the Society of Jesus. His interests include theology, writing, music, and appreciating God’s creations.
Description and symbolism:
The overall design reflects the Armiger’s faith in Christ and his ministry, devotion to the Holy Family, and the martyrdom of those who suffered for their faith.
To the Armiger, the color red represents martyrdom and the sacrifice of Christ, while white represents purity and transparency.
The red star is a reference to the emblem of the Society of Jesus, and shows that the Armiger’s vocation is called to their works.
The triangle pointing upwards alludes to Jesus Christ as the Most High. The three sided form also represents the Holy Trinity.
The fleur de lis is a representation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and alludes to the Armiger’s devotion to her, the source of his service.
The white lily is a symbol of St. Joseph and indicates the Armiger’s devotion towards his works as the foster father of Jesus Christ.
The motto reflects the Armiger’s belief that all is done by God’s will, and his commitment to follow His will.
Blazon: Shield: Gules, a pile inverted and cotised Argent, in chief dexter a fleur de lys Or, in chief sinister a lily Argent, in base a sun in splendour Gules.
Motto: Fiat voluntas tua (“Thy will be done”).
