Description and symbolism:
The scale and the wheel are emblems of the distinguished professions and virtuous lives of the Armiger and his wife. The scale, a timeless symbol of justice and equity, evokes the ideals of fairness, reason, and service to truth. The wheel, an ancient symbol of progress, movement, and enterprise, conveys the virtues of diligence, perseverance, and steadfast devotion to one’s duties. It likewise alludes to the cycle of life and providence, ever-turning toward purpose and growth.
The intertwining of the scale and the wheel manifests the sacred bond of marriage, uniting the principles of justice and enterprise, intellect and compassion, law and livelihood. Together, these symbols express the shared vision of the couple – a union founded upon faith, respect, and the mutual pursuit of excellence in both family and vocation. The gold and white further highlights the purity of their intention and the golden heritage of their values passed to their descendants.
The red and wavy white line refer to the City of Dasmariñas, Cavite, the birthplace of the Galang lineage. The wave symbolizes the abundance of rivers in Cavite, representing life and prosperity, while the red field recalls the province’s heroic past as the Cradle of the Philippine Revolution. The color red further signifies the bravery, patriotism, and enduring spirit of every Caviteño – a heritage deeply valued and remembered by the family.
The cross, martlet and fleur-de-lys allude to the meaning of the family name “Galang,” translated as “honor” or “respect.” The cross represents faith and sacrifice; the martlet, the pursuit of virtue and knowledge; and the fleur-de-lis, purity and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Together, they reflect the family’s steadfast Catholic faith, their commitment to moral excellence, and their dedication to serving with humility and grace within the community.
