Description and symbolism:
The two morses or sealions allude to several elements of the Armiger’s identity. As sealions live both underwater and on land, they represent strength and adaptability. The pair can also represent the Armiger and his father, who share the same name. Sealions also are a national symbol.
The key is a metaphor for unlocking and revealing information, the unveiling of discoveries and secrets, or the capacity to access something hidden. It represents the Armiger and his family’s pursuit of knowledge and education.
The cross refers to the Armiger and his family’s faith. It alludes to hardships borne and overcome, as in Matthew 16:24: “Take up your cross and follow me.” The sword shape represents the Armiger and his family’s readiness to defend their beliefs.
The cresset or beacon symbolizes vigilance and awareness of danger. Bringing light to darkness, it represents guidance and hope, as well as further recalling the Armiger’s focus on education.
The chevron tipped with the fleur de lis symbolizes the virtue of purity, the family itself with three petals for the mother, father and children, as well as trust in the Holy Trinity’s protection.
To the Armiger, blue represents truthfulness, loyalty, hope and strength.
