Description and symbolism:

The star in the first quarter alludes to the Blessed Mother under her title, the Immaculate Conception, who is the Armiger’s personal patroness and the principal patroness of both the Philippines and the United States.

The fleur-de-lis in the fourth quarter also refers to the Blessed Mother but under her title, Our Lady of Peace, principal patroness of the Diocese of Honolulu.

The nails in the second and third quarters recall Saint Peter the Apostle, the Armiger’s personal patron saint, who is also the patron saint of the parish and town where he grew up and served as an altar server.

The Augustinian symbols on the inescutcheon allude to the Augustinian school that fostered the Armiger’s early life and faith. Saint Augustine is also the Armiger’s personal patron saint and model for his way of life and of thought.

The cross gyronny represents the theology of the Humanity (silver) and the Divinity (gold) of the Lord.

The colors of the shield recall those of the Philippine, Hawaiian, and American flags.
