Description and symbolism:
The owl, a symbol of insight and foresight, suggests the Armiger’s eager pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Armored, it alludes to the Armiger’s understanding that knowledge cannot be attained without being fought for and wisdom gained through experience. The armor also represents restraint, and the Armiger’s desire to use knowledge and wisdom to safeguard the helpless: wisdom is not passive, but actively safeguarded.
In the owl’s claws are two circles representing the Armiger’s professions. On the left, the waves allude to seafaring. Water symbolizes adaptability, endurance, and fluidity: qualities essential to both the sea and the Armiger’s ability to navigate life’s challenges. On the right, the curled wisps allude to aviation. Air symbolizes freedom, ambition and exploration, reflecting the Armiger’s pursuit of new heights and willingness to venture beyond the ordinary.
To the Armiger, blue and gold represent loyalty and nobility: blue reflects truth, loyalty and honor, while gold refers to generosity.
