Description and symbolism:

The fig tree at the center refers to the biblical story of Jesus calling on Nathaniel (John 1:43-51), the Armiger’s given name. The fruits allude to the meaning of the name, “gift of God,” reminding that life’s experiences are God’s gift.

The knife alludes to the martyrdom of the Apostle St. Bartholomew, identified by modern scholars as Nathanael, as a further reference to the Armiger’s name. According to Christian tradition, St. Bartholomew was skinned alive. The lightning bolt alludes to St. Barbara, for whom the hometown of the Armiger is named; lightning is among the attributes of the Saint.

The star represents Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag, the Queen and Patroness of the Province of Pangasinan. The bell refers to the Armiger’s service as an altar server.

The rose represents the Armiger’s love of his family.

To the Armiger, the gold and red colors refer to the two elements of the Greatest Commandment: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:36-40).

The motto is drawn from that of Saint Stanislaus Kostka.

Blazon: Shield: Per pale Gules and Or, a fig tree eradicated surmounting a lightning bolt and a knife in saltire, in chief dexter a mullet of five points, in chief sinister a bell, and in base a rose, all counterchanged.

Motto: Ad maiora natus sum (“I was born for greater things”).
