Description and symbolism:
The sword represents St. Ferdinand III of Castile, the patron of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, and the Armiger’s rank in the Archdiocese’s organization of altar servers. The crozier alludes to St. Martin of Tours, the Armiger’s patron saint by birth date.
The scallop represents St. Francis Ferdinand de Capillas, commemorated for his missionary work in Asia, and the Armiger’s baptismal patron saint.
The crown recalls St. Michael the Archangel and the quill pen St. John the Evangelist. Combined they represent the Armiger’s given names.
The rose refers to St. Therese of the Child and Holy Face, and the cross St. John Paul II, both being the Armiger’s personal patron saints.
To the Armiger, white symbolizes merciful love, while red represents total self giving.
The motto is inspired by that of Saint John Paul II and reflects devotion to Mary.
