Description and symbolism:

The chevron alludes to Mount Matutum, and together with the tuna fish refer to the Diocese of Marbel, the home diocese of the Armiger. The blue recalls the waters of baptism, and also of service, which the Armiger wishes to emulate.

The chevron is tinctured green which alludes to the Armiger’s advocacy for the environment. The fleur de lis and lilies recall the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, and their spiritual support as primary intercessors on the Armiger’s behalf.

The red cross is a reference to the cross of St. George, and alludes to the Armiger’s dedication to defending the Catholic faith. The gold orb symbolizes the Santo Niño, as a cant to the Armiger’s nickname. Placed in the chief, it reflects the belief that the Holy Child will triumph over the world, and a call to not be fearful and to follow the Cross. It also recalls the gift of a statue of the Santo Niño of Prague to the Armiger’s mother as a birthday present from a friend.

In this emblazonment, the talakudong hat reflects the Armiger’s heritage.

The motto refers to the Armiger’s personal mission to serve and defend the Catholic Church with the support of Jesus Christ alone. It is also in part in honor of Cardinal Jaime Sin, whose personal motto is “Serviam” and whose legacy the Armiger strives to perpetuate.
