Description and symbolism:

The charges generally reflect the Armiger’s faith. The Tau cross recalls St. Francis of Assisi and his commitment to poverty and simplicity in life, and reminds the Armiger of his own dedication to simplicity and humility.

The crescent moon is a reference to St. Francis Xavier, and recalls the Saint’s unfinished mission to the Chinese people. The Saint passed away before reaching China; out of prayerful discernment, the Armiger has since taken up the same evangelical mission.

The Marian monogram represents the Armiger’s devotion to Mary under her title of Our Lady of Penafrancia, of special significance to Bicolanos.

The crocodile is a family symbol that commemorates the Armiger’s great-grandfather. At one time, the family’s hometown was flooded during a typhoon. The Armiger’s great-grandfather was able to swim through the flood waters and save many neighbors from drowning.

The motto is a reference to the book of Isaiah, chapter 6, verse 8, and reminds the Armiger of his calling to the Lord’s mission.
